The rendang packs a punch in terms of the spice level but extremely delicious and

pairs so well with the crunchy achar. This dish is part of their Hari Raya menu which runs until end May 2024. I usually always order their rose udon, Thai curry rice or miso sesame soba but decided to venture away from those to try this- no regrets! Just remember to get a cooling drink to go along with it (they have fantastic and unique lattes)

🟩Rendang was to me... something I dont have often as it tends to be with

meat, and also very oily. Although I think the flavour profile is good!
This version, came with lots of mushroom which 🥵is pulled to a mouth size for easy scooping and chewing. The spice profile is very spot on, and they went all the way on the chili! So if you can't take much spicy food, just... take note.
🤤The achar goes very well with the spicy rendang. My mouth is still... Watering from the flavour.
🛢️The only thing I have on the dish is the oil level. It's much lower than the typical rendang dish, but still too much for me. I don't think the oil adds much, since the monkeyhead is so moist on it's own. For me, the oil adds a sense of heaviness that I don't love. But I know... That's my taste buds~

We were served quinoa instead of rice, which was a pleasant surprise. Flavour and texture

of the rendang was on point. Not for the spice averse. Please stand by with cold drink haha!


Soft and springy sliced monkeyhead mushrooms (slightly reminiscent of sotong somehow?) plus diced potato cooked

in fragrant, spicy, and buttery sweet housemade rendang sauce. 🌴🍄🥔 Really loved this tasty dish, and was glad that no mock meat was used! (Btw they have other great monkeyhead mushroom dishes in their menu too~) Would recommend this if you can tolerate spice! Also came with homemade achar pickled vegetables (appetisingly but not overwhelmingly sour) including cabbage, cauliflower, and carrot sticks, along with chopped peanuts~ 🥕🥜 Served with brown rice sprinkled with sesame seeds.
