Review of vegan caprese salad at Makahiki by bandita

They veganized this caprese salad simply by leaving out the cheese and crostini. I’m disappointed that their crostini isn’t vegan to begin with.

This was a starter, part of a 3 course meal. Not many vegan options. All the salads can be veganized by simply omitting the cheese, bread and creamy dressings, and only the dressing would be replaced with a balsamic vinaigrette, essentially making all the choices pretty much the same.

The main course, which I’ll post a review, was a lot better. Dessert was decent. Other than that, not a place I’d choose, although I’m grateful they offer a vegan option for times when non-vegan friends want to go there for a special occasion, as was my case in this situation.
