Review of Pistachio Spandauer at Kaf by greenp

I always get super enthusiastic whenever I see a plant-based pistachio sweet treat because it happens quite rarely, so of course I had to try this pistachio spandauer from Kaf.

It tasted good but I have to say I was disappointed by the overall lack of pistachio flavour. The dough used is probably the same they use for croissants, which combined with the thick and sweet central creme filling (although not creamy at all) filling make this spandauer quite dense. The roasted pistachios on the top bring some contrast with the filling’s texture which is enjoyable, but I wish they used pistachio butter to make this bake more flavoursome!

My friend and I still found it nice because of its homemade rustical vibes, but do not expect something intense in pistachio! It’s a fair sweet treat but I’d say you can have way yummier ones from Kaf ;)
