It’s early Sunday morning, I’m still groggy & the kitchen slowly comes to life. First,
Teddy gets squared away. Next, coffee, then Spotify. (How fortunate are we? In a matter of seconds, to be able to fill our lives with the outrageous beauty that music brings to us. Today, it’s vintage Paul McCartney, then Paul Simon.)
Now, time to make something super quick. The bread sizzles in the frying pan while garlic cloves are peeled, chopped & folded into a schmear of avocado & artichoke. Everything is plated & receives a shake of ground Sumac, which adds an almost imperceptible note of citrus. The photos are pleasing enough & so I sit, take a bite & relish the moment.
Sit. Feast on your life.
