My vegan journey started with an Instagram post of a cow at a sanctuary having a cuddle with one of her rescuers. I didn’t just see a cow. I saw a beautiful, gentle, sentient being who just wanted love and affection, much the same as my dog. In that instant I knew it was time for me to change.

Being that the connection and my ‘why’ for going vegan was made with a cow at an animal sanctuary and my love of animals, it was only natural that the next step for me was to look into sanctuaries. I come across @liberationsanctuary which just so happened to be 15min from where I live (destiny) I am so grateful to have found the sanctuary. I love going there and spending time with new animal and human friends. It truly is such a beautiful part of the world and a space where my heart feels full and happy knowing that these animals get to live out their natural lives being cared for and loved for the individuals that they are.

I’m a big believer in everything happens for a reason. By going vegan and being so actively involved at an animal sanctuary, I’ve finally found my passion and purpose. I am now living my life in full alignment with my core values, and it is all thanks to the animal family members at the sanctuaries and the humans for sharing their stories.
