My son gifted me an orchid in May 2023. It took almost one year to see blooms again, and it went from purple to white flowers. Orchids are interesting plants!!

helena12345 I’m curious as to why this is a needed event. In Belgium we have recycling parks where you are supposed to, among a lot of others materials, bring your styrofoam too. Is it not like this in the US?8 likesReply

agreene428 In the US (Ohio), our trash/recycling company handles separating out the following items once a week/biweekly:

Paper
Food & Beverage Cans
Glass Bottles & Containers
Plastic Bottles & Containers
Food & Beverage Containers
Flattened Cardboard & Paperboard

They do not handle styrofoam for some reason, so our city/county has a Styrofoam Recycling Event every three months. I'm so happy about their Styrofoam Recycling Events!! Most of the medications that are shipped to me come in these huge styrofoam containers with ice packs, so I accumulate a lot of styrofoam. It's nice to help keep unwanted styrofoam out of the landfill.5 likesReply

gattaviola I find it curious too. In my town in northern Italy we have to recycle everything and they collect different kind of materials on different days of the week. All the things that cannot be collected must be brought to the collection centre any day of the week so there are no events. 6 likesReply

arronlee So many things to say! This is great that you stood up as a defender to speak out against animal exploration! During my time in my chosen career field, we had to do a walk through of a circus event and to see someone using a pole with a dull hook to lead an elephant by the ear was heartbreaking. The exploration of these sentient beings has to stop! They need to be turned over to sanctuaries that could take appropriate care of them. The best thing would for them to be returned to their native habitats but I don’t know if that would set them up for failure to thrive since they have been treated the way they have been in these “events”.
